COMMUNITY LEGAL EDUCATOR
NAAJA currently has a vacancy for a Community Legal Educator within our Law & Justice Projects Section at our Darwin Office. NAAJA’s CLE Team provide legal education programs to Aboriginal people in Top End communities to assist Aboriginal people and communities to engage with the legal system..

The successful applicant will have:
• A demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• Tertiary qualifications in law, community development or education, or similar relevant work experience;
• Knowledge of adult education techniques and/or experience in community legal education.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including effective cross-cultural communication skills and willingness to work with cultural and language interpreters.
• Ability to create effective, culturally relevant CLE resources.
Regular travel to remote communities by light aircraft and/or road will be required and will include overnight stays.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated empathy and sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, history and culture.
